Embassy Review : I arrived at the Consulate at 8:20 for a 9am interview. There was no line outside and I was let in immediately and given #17. When I arrived on the 19th floor the first number I heard called for immigrant visas was #2 so I thought I may be in for a long wait but it wasn't too bad. I was called up around 9:30 to present my documents, get finger printed etc and then told to sit and wait for my number to be called again.

After around 20 minutes I was called up for the "interview". I was helped by a friendly younger gentlemen who took a quick look at my file and said "oh, this will be easy" which immediately helped calm my nerves down. He asked a couple questions about What I did for a living, What my wife's profession was, where she worked, when we got married and if I had any problems with police in the past.

He then told me I was approved and handed me the welcome to the United States of America letter. He said because I live in BC I should expect my passport and package to arrive in 1-2 weeks.
