Comments : The IV Bill wasn't available to pay online until I called and asked about it, then it came up about a week later. This was due to the system thinking I hadn't assigned an agent (DS-261), even though the online platform marked it as completed.
As soon as the payment was processed I was able to fill out the DS-260 online. So, if you have any doubts, call the agency. I call just when they open--easy if you are living in a later time zone--and have never had a long wait.

We lost 2 months because the AOS Joint Sponsor form supposedily didn't have the original signature (we mailed the duplicate documents right way, then it was Christmas, and then it took the NVC 40 days to open the mail). Make sure to sign everything and use a cheap pen so it's obvious that the signature hasn't been printed out. We're not sure whether the first form was signed or not, so I spoke to an NVC service agent to verify, and he is the person who told me to use a cheap pen the second time around because if there is any doubt NVC will reject the document.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
