Local US CIS Office Review: New York City NY
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : February 23, 2016
Embassy Review : I had my interview at noon today and got approved instantly. The interviewer was so nice and didn't ask us a single question about our marriage. After oath, he asked yes/no questions from 485 and then we chatted about random stuff 30 mins after which he said your green card is approved, good luck. We thanked him, walked out and received a notification that our card is being produced.
Harassment Level : Very Good

I received only one letter from USCIS which was for n-400. I did submit case inquiry regarding combo interview and received a call from my local office a week before the interview where they confirmed it'll be a combo interview and asked me to come along with my wife. Hope that helps, good luck.

thanks for sharing your experience one more question did you change your address since you file i751 and is your n400 interview in new york or other state i spoke to my lawyer today he said they only take n400 interview on april 3 and there is very high chances they approve both together same day and they never allow anyone with candidate in n400 interview they only allow candidate inside for n400 if they require i 751 interview they schedule it seprate or before. thanks

Yes I did change my address after filing I-751 from NY to FL and my N-400 combo interview was in FL. It's good that your lawyer seems to know how NY office works, that should be helpful.

Hello and congratulations on successfully arriving to the end of this process. I am still waiting. Would you be kindly share when did you receive interview letter, if the letter asked you to go alone or with spouse? what questions were asked from you during i-751 interview? Did they tell you after interview if you are approved or not? THANK YOU very much

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
