Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : October 23, 2015
Embassy Review : I went there around 6am and there is a line for K1 applicants. please ask the guard where to line up. It was a long line but if you go inside it wouldn't matter.

1st step: the fiances will be called to line up near the entrance, ready your passport, DS160, appointment confirmation letter. IV greeters will place a sticker at the back of your passport

2nd step: go inside the door, like in the airport, you will place your things in the xray machine. please include everything including your keys, wallet, everything inside your pockets must undergo the xray machine.

NO ELECTRONICS IS ALLOWED, please be advised.no cellphones, cameras, earphones, usbs, etc. don't be stubborn, leave it at home or hotel! you can also leave it with the outside vendors but for a hefty fee.

3rd step: you will be lining up again, present your ds 160, appointment and confirmation, they will staple a number TAKE NOTE OF THE ENDING NUMBER IF YOU ARE LOST, PLEASE SHOW THE NUMBER TO THE IV GREETERS, they will know where you will be lining up inside. they will instruct you to enter DOOR 2

4th step: final checking of bags with the security guards

5th step: bio metrics (finger print scan) you will be ask your name and date of birth. iv greeters will instruct you where to go after.

6th step: pre-screening with a filipino consul.

prepare: ds-160, birth cert, nbi, cenomar, sealed enevelope from slec, MRV slip. she didnt ask for my fiance's W2s and 1040, but you still have to bring it because it is included in the list of requirements.

questions are very similar to the ones already posted online:
name, name of petitioner, date of birth, petitioner's address, petitioner's job. where did you meet etc... She asked for pics of me and my fiance. she also ask how my fiance came to the US (he was naturalized) what type of visa did he acquire?

7th step: oath taking and another finger print scan (american consul)
you will be asked to recite an oath followed by a fingerprint scan.

8th and final step: interview with the american consular officer.
TIP: be relaxed. be prepared. be charming. I know you haven't slept well, but be alert and have presence of mind. I saw one fiancee, was shaking she couldn't even answer the question "when did you 1st meet?" maybe you could do a practice interview with your fiance via skype :D

questions were (again) very basic same as the one online: name, name of petitioner, date of birth, petitioner's address, petitioner's job. where did you meet, how did he got his citizenship etc.

towards the end of the interview he said congratulations! welcome to the US. i was so happy i said "yehey!" and gave him a laugh.

TOTAL TIME: I was there at 6am and went hope around 9:45ish.
goodluck!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
