Embassy Review : Overall experience was pleasant.

Appointment time was 740 am arrived at consulate at 7 am. Small line of people maybe 3 or 4 ahead of us. Doors opened promptly at 730 am. They brought out barriers make sure you are standing against the wall as that will be where you need to line up. They check your appointment confirmation and that you are regustered with loomis they will give you a laminated number I got #2. NOTE DO NOT BRING LARGE BAGS OR BACKPACKS THEY WILL TURN YOU AWAY. I did not bring anything with me except documents and cell phone. Also note they will NOT allow anyone in the consulate with you except a US citizen and they must show their US passport to be allowed in. You will go through security like at the airport and they will take your cell phone and give you a ticket to collect it later. I had no problems with security they seemed pleasant.
After security you will go downstairs to a large room to wait for elevator. My advice if you have a number under 10 try to be on the elevator first. We got on the 2nd batch and before we got upstairs our number was called. No worries thiugh the people already waiting asked if our number was 2 and to go to window 2 so I did. Once there they will ask you for certain documents. I dont remember what they asked me for.You will not need worry about documents as long as you have everything on the checklist (make sure you phoyocopy everything) you will be fine. We had trouble paying on line we kept getting an error message so when he asked for the receipt of payment I didnt have one.....No worries you can pay cash 265.00 there. I had to go to different window to pay. So I paid and back to window 2 I went. This time was about maybe 5 -7 minutes. He asked a few questions - nothing to serious and easy to answer and told me to go and sit back down and wait for number 2 to be called. No sooner had I sat down before my number was called to a different window. Now I am nervous... he verified addresses and contact info asked for documents. Again nothing you cant answer. He did ask me about being denied entry into the US as I was denied one time in the past. I was worried that it might affect my visa. He asked me a lot of questions about the denial. Now my gut is turning but after he was satisfied he handed me the welcome to the USA letter. He told me that my passport will be mailed to me within 2 weeks provided there is nothing that comes up about my denial. So now I am waiting for my passport and package to arrive.

Security were pleasant not friendly but not rude either. They have a very boring job to do and it shows.
the person outside was very nice and friendly. Helpful if you had a bag that was not allowed in told you where you could go to leave your bag.
upstairs personelle were again pleasant. Felt like they were herding cattle through and really didnt care. They werent rude or anything just there doing their job.
over all experience was good.
IF YOU ARE PREPARED WITH ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.RELAX IT WASNT THAT SCARY.
I RATED THEM A 3 AS I FELT EVERYONE COULD BE MORE FRUENDLY AND SMILE MORE.
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
