Embassy Review : So after a wait of 8 months we finally had the interview for K1 visa at Mumbai,India. Here are the steps to follow after the case reaches Mumbai.
Get your police clearance certificate from the regional passport office. This is valid for 6months.
After that withing 2 weeks you will get a letter from the embassy giving instructions on the next steps. After you get the letter you can schedule a medical examination. This takes place at Rele clinic, gamdevi, mumbai. For the medical you will need 8 photos of size 2 inch by 2 inch with white background.
You will get yoir medical reports next day. Once you finish medical you can start filling your DS 160 form and keep it ready. As soon as you get the medical reports you can submit the form and make a payment. You will not be able to make the payment using a credit card. You will either have to do a NEFT transfer of pay over the counter at axis bank. After paying at axis bank in 3hours the payment will be processed and you can schedule an appointment.you will have to schedule two appointments one for photographs and finger prints and other for interview. Things to carry for the interview
DS 160 confirmation page
Payment confirmation
I129f approved copy
I 134
Tax returns of your fiance ( petitioner)
W2 of petitioner
2 photos of you of 2 inch by 2 inch size in white background
Photocopy of your birth certificate
Medical reports
Letter from NVC
Appointment letter from embassy
Proof of relationship which includes phone logs pictures passport stamps etc.
Here goes my experience
I had an appointment at 9 am and I reached at 8. After I cleared the preliminary security check I was directly let in to the embassy and was asked to take a token no and wait till my number flashed on the screen
Then I was directed to counter no 13 where my documents were checked and put in a file. The officer asked for approved I129 f, tax returns, medical report and photographs. And then I was again asked to wait for the interview. After this I waited for about 2 hours and then was called for the final interview. Here I was asked the following
What does your fiance do ?
Where does he live?
Since how long has he been in the US?
How did he come to US?
Who filed for him?
Which college did he go to?
And then I was told your visa will be ready in 7 days.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
