Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 16, 2015
Embassy Review : Had the interview last week. I arrived at the consulate at 6:50AM, got inside the building at 7:40AM, left at 8:30AM. I was #2 in line.

The documents they are asked me were:
- Appointment letter (the one that contains your appointment date, method of payment, selected loomis location etc.)
- Passport and photocopy
- 2 passport photos
- Birth certificate and photocopy
- Original police certificate
- Original letter of intent to marry signed in the last 30 days
- I-134 & my fiance's 1040 tax return for 2014 (I had paystubs, W2's and his employment letter but he didn't need itit wasn't requested)

The questions I got asked were (in no particular order):

- How did I meet him
- When did I meet him for the first time
- When did we get engaged
- Have I ever been arrested
- Have I ever entered the U.S. illegally
- Have I ever been refused entry into the U.S.
- Asked to confirm my fiance's name and address
- Asked me to confirm my intended address in the U.S.
- Have we ever been married
- Have we ever been divorced
- Have we ever had children
- Do I have a nexus card (Don't worry if you don't, I don't think it matters at all. I guess he asked this because I included my Nexus card details in my I-129F)

As you can see, they were mostly yes/no questions. The other questions I kept my answers brief (a sentence at most). My interview was literally five minutes.

Two days later, my passport was ready for pickup at my selected Loomis location in Ontario (Markham).
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
