Comments : The interview was really more like a casual conversation. She swore us under oath and asked us how we met, and a few questions regarding pictures from our initial K-1 petition. She then asked if we had any joint documents to show co-mingled finances, assets, or bills. After a few more questions, she told us she was happy to approve us and sent us on our way. Before we even made it out of the building, we received our card production electronic notifications. So happy to be done with the waiting for another stretch of time.

Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Since I am the USC, I am relaying the bits and pieces Kas has provided me about the interview process and his experience.

As he lives in London, he didn't need to make prior arrangements for a hotel in the area, so I cannot provide a place to stay for out-of-towners.

He arrived at the embassy around 7:15 and noted that there was already a massive queue outside. Once he got inside and received his number, he was there until a little after 10am. His two interviewing officers were very nice: a charming American guy and a very lovely American woman.

Number 1 took all his required documents, and had Kas go wait until his number was called again, while Number 2 swore him under oath and asked him a few questions-how we met, when did we last visit one another, what I do for a living, etc. It really was like a small chit-chat, nothing too invasive. Both officers mentioned that as a Brit, he would be very happy with the temperatures here and that we actually enjoy all four seasons!

After his tiny chat with the American lady, she was happy to announce that he had been approved and that he should receive his visa in about 10 business days.

Hello and congratulations on successfully arriving to the end of this process. I am still waiting. Did they transfer your files NBC? Would you kindly share when did you receive interview letter, if the letter asked you to go alone or with spouse? what questions were asked from you during i-751 interview? Did they tell you after interview if you are approved or not? THANK YOU very much

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
