Officer was fast, and unsure of how many days for k1 visa. Officer quickly Explained to my fiance how the k1 visa works. No I-94 given, ask for it, but we did not. Really fast process, just a lot of people in line. |

Hello Everyone,
We had our interview today in USCIS Chatsworth, CA. My case was from K1 to AOS.
Just want to mention we waited about 3 months for our case to go from Case if ready to be schedule for an interview to Interview schedule.
I’m the USC and my husband the beneficiary. We brought in an Interpreter for my husband. English is still not fluent. If you’re in the SFV area I recommend Jimenez Interpreter (https://www.yelp.com/biz/jimenez-interpreter-los-angeles) English/Spanish Interpreter. I’m sharing this information because I know from experience reading through all these posts it may help someone. Just like the old posts have helped me. We got there 30 min before. Our interview was schedule at 12:15pm. We went through the x-ray machine and checked in. Waited about 40 min to be called in. Our officer was a woman, did not get her name. Just an FYI we organized the following in an accordion folder
• Copies of all applications sent
• Evidence of U.S. Citizenship (Passport, Certificate of Naturalization or U.S. Birth Certificate)
• Drivers License
• Social Security card
• Birth Certificate (with English translation, if applicable)
• Marriage Certificate
DOCUMENTATION FOR BENEFICIARY
• Passport
• Visa
• I-94
• Work Permit
• Any other immigration documents
• Social Security card
• Drivers License (if any)
• Birth Certificate (with English translation, if applicable)
AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION
• Current letter of employment of Petitioner
• Most recent federal income tax (with W-2s) of Petitioner
• If a Joint Sponsor submitted an affidavit of support at the time of filing of the Adjustment of Status, you will need the following documentation for the interview:
• Current letter of employment of Joint Sponsor
• Most recent federal income tax (with W-2s) of Joint Sponsor
EVIDENCE OF MARITAL RELATIONSHIP
• Wedding photos ‰ Any other photos of you and your spouse together since you have been married (i.e. vacation photos, family gatherings, etc.)
• Evidence of lease agreements (ex: rental agreements or leases in both names)
• Affidavits of family or friends
• Joint income tax returns
• Joint phone bill
• Joint bank accounts
• Joint auto insurance policies/registration/car title
• Bills or Correspondence to both parties at the same address

Okay once we were called in. We walked into a regular office with desk. The officer sat on one side and we sat on the other. The officer asked for all our ID’s including the interpreters (they also asked for the interpreter’s status in her case her green card. Not sure if it’s a new policy but our interpreter did not have it with her they had to look her up.) First, they asked for our marriage evidence. Our photo album. The officer asked if she could take any photos. I said yes. We had 50 photos in our album. We then handed the rest of our evidence: bills, affidavits, taxes etc. She did not even look at it just punch holes on it and added it to our file. They asked for our names, address, and marriage license and passports. They double check this information from the applications sent. Then the officer told me that she will not be asking me questions only my husband. He was sworn in. He was asked where we met, how long we talked before I went to visit him, if we skyped or facetime, where he works, our address, phone number, The address from his current job. I spoke occasionally to add to the answers like the dates I went to visit my husband. Then the officer was typing in some things and printed out a page. She said we were approved!! I couldn’t believe it! Approved on the spot!!!! ïŠ We were super happy!!!!! They explained to us the 2-Year Green Card/ Removing Conditions and we went home to celebrate. Right away we got notifications on our phone, card is being produced to case is approved. Wishing everyone has the same experience and as long as you’re prepared everything will be fine.
