Event Description

Embassy Review : My appointment was at 9am however I wanted to get there early, so I got a taxi from the Holiday Inn to the embassy at 6.25, I arrived at the embassy at 6.35 and there were already 4 people there.

At 7.30 people came out and put us into 8am and 9am lines, but because I was an immigrant visa I went in straight away, in the line I was asked for my passport, appointment letter, DS-160 and the instructions sheet from paying and then went through security.

When I got into the embassy at 7.38 I was given ticket number 5, I sat down for about an hour until my number was called and went up to a lovely man, he asked for my passport, birth certificate, affidavit of support, proof of visa payment, police certificate and one photo. He then told me to sit down and wait for my number to be called again.

I waited another 20 minutes until my number was called again and went up to a window with an american woman, she asked me: how i met my fiancé, when that was, when we met in person, what he does for a living, what I do for a living, she then told me congratulations you're approved and have until July 28th to enter the us.

I was back on the street by 9.05! I was very nervous but it was really not as bad as I thought. As long as you have everything needed you should be fine!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
