Event Description

Embassy Review : Arrived at 8:15 for a 9am interview time. They have several queues outside, however no signs as to what they are. Turns out they are by appt time. After queuing up for about 30 minutes, a lady came down the line checking papers and sent me to the front as I was an immigrant applicant. So maybe ask someone and you might get to cut the line.

Security was a breeze. Then got a number and took a seat in the hall at 9am. The numbers come up on the screen, they're not in numerical order so pay attention. Number was called at 9:30, went to the window and showed my documents to a short lady, who was a bit quiet but nice enough. Make sure you have your documents ready. Despite what it says on the screens inside, you will also need your payment and delivery confirmation for your visa.

Took a seat for round about another 40 minutes, before being called up for my interview. Interview was brief and easy and the interviewer was very friendly. Her questions were:

"So you're engaged to an American, how did that happen?"
I explained we met at university, she then asked "You stayed in touch once she went back to the US?" "Did you visit?"
"How do you like Boston?"

Approved!
Visa within 2 weeks.

Overall, it was a really easy process.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
