Event Description

Embassy Review : My Fiance had his interview on September 9, 2015.

The process to get the interview was the most difficult. They don't release appointment dates often, and there are not many available when they do release them. It took us over a month to get an appointment scheduled They also do not respond in a timely manner to emails and phone contacts are nonexistent

THE ACTUAL INTERVIEW.......
He arrived at 1 pm for an appointment at 1:30 pm. After going through a couple of "check" points, he was told to wait to be called. In total, he was in the embassy for 4 hours but the actual "interview" (talking with the CO and answering questions) took about 20 minutes. (ALHAMDULILLAH)
He was asked simple questions regarding our relationship.
*WHEN DID WE MEET
*DID HE KNOW I WAS MARRIED AND DIVORCED
*WHAT AGE ARE MY KIDS
*WHERE DO MY KIDS LIVE
*WHEN DID I VISIT ALGERIA
*WHERE DID I STAY WHEN I WAS IN ALGERIA
*WHAT IS IT ABOUT HER PERSONALITY THAT MAKES YOU LIKE HER
*IS SHE MUSLIM
*WHEN DID SHE CONVERT
*DO YOU PLAN TO WORK IN AMERICA
*WHAT DOES YOUR FAMILY SAY ABOUT YOU WANTING TO MARRY HER

Unfortunately for us, the medical was scheduled after the interview so we did not get an approval that day.

THE MEDICAL...........
UGH! Nothing but problems with these people. First, we tried to make the appointment by phone. All they do is hang up on you. So he had to go in person to make the appointment. During the medical, the people are rude and not helpful at all. He had to get 3 shots and go to a different place for 1 more shot which was done the next day. They didn't tell him which shots they gave him, they claimed they did not have the DS-3025 form so we were not able to get a copy of anything. They didn't offer any copies either.

MEDICAL AFTER INTERVIEW SITUATION......
It wasn't a problem with the embassy that we had the medical after the interview. The CO kindly explained that when the medical was complete to just return the medical envelope to the embassy inside another opened envelope with his name and case # written on the front.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
My fiance says everyone at the embassy was nice. He felt comfortable during the process. He said it was easier than he had imagined. He says "i felt sometimes that he asked me questions not to see if i know the answer "he knows that i know the answer" but to see the reaction , i can notice that he focused on my actions and my face , i believe that he is intelligent or he knows how to do his job, but without making me nervous or anything, he was so nice"

I can say that for proof of relationship, we were very prepared and I believe that is why the experience was smooth for my fiance. We had pictures, facebook messages, skype messages, emails, and screen shots of our "friendship" from facebook. We did not screen our messages. We gave them exactly what we had. Meaning if there was very personal context within the messages, whomever reads through the messages would see it. We were open with everything.

Our case was updated on CEAC to "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING" the day after the interview, then again to "READY" 2 days after giving them the results from the medical and now we are waiting for it to be updated to "ISSUED"

I am giving 4 stars only because we are still waiting for the visa to be issued
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
