Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 18, 2014
Embassy Review : My wife's interview was on December 16th and she was approved. Here is the detail review of her interview experience.

She reached shuttle service at 5:45am. At 6:15am, she got into the line to get the ticket, she showed her passport and interview letter. She got into the first shuttle that left for US embassy at 6:45am. She reached the embassy and got into the line for immigrant visa applicants. Security checked her interview letter and passport. She entered the embassy and was directed towards finger prints place. She got the fingerprints. After getting done with fingerprints, she received domestic violence pamphlet, courier services information flyer and information to pay green card fee. After that she was directed to a waiting lounge.

She was called onto the window where Pakistani CO was sitting. He asked her to submit her medical report and passport. After that she told him that my husband has an updated AOS because he has a new job title and new salary figure. He told her you can give me that as well. He took her contact number so courier services can call her to pick up the passport. She was asked if she will give an interview in English or Urdu. She said Urdu. She was asked to wait for an interview call.

After that she was called onto window where American CO and Pakistani CO both were present. They asked her following questions:

Who is sponsoring you?
Was it an arranged marriage or love marriage?
What does your husband do?
Where does he live?
Who does he live with?
What are his siblings name?
For how long did he stay in Pakistan after marriage?
How do you guys communicate with each other?
What kind of visa did he got, when he went to USA?
When he went to USA?
Where will you live when you move to USA?
What is your husband's job title? Does he like his boss?
Do you have anything else with you? She had wedding album, joint bank account statements, skype calls screenshots, wedding card, life insurance policy (They only saw wedding album and joint bank account statements).

After that they told her, "Congratulations, we are approving your visa". She also got her original documents back after hearing magic words. She told me she thanks the CO's and had a big smile on her face when she left embassy. American Express courier service will contact her in few days so she can pick up her passport and visa packet.

The visa application status has been changed from "Administrative Processing" to "ISSUED" on CEAC website today (December 17th). I am so happy that everything went smooth
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
