Consulate Review: Afghanistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 12, 2014
Embassy Review : Our case was expedited while our civil documents and AOS were still with the NVC. My husband went to the interview expecting the consular officer to have all of our documents. They didn't have anything, consular asked my husband to submit the AOS in the drop box - He submitted the AOS that didn't even have my signature along with my last 4 recent pay stubs.

I called the national visa center and they informed me that they still have my documents and that when they get to them they will eventually return those packages to my address and then I would have to submit them to the embassy.

We were put on AP for 2 days and after two days, the visa was issued!

The consular officer just asked my husband my parent's names and took his passport and said if everything is fine, they will issue the visa!

My husband is going to pick up the passport tomorrow!!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
