Went quicker than I thought...I received a letter saying that I wouldn't have to do an interview (subject to change) and that my GC would be delayed up to 6 months. But I only waited 2 more months.. I got my card last week :D |

VISA APPROVED!!
I'm going to do this in point form, hopefully it will help some. Everyone was really nice and straight forward with what they needed.
*Got to 1155 St.Alexandre at 7:20am. 20 mins early. 6 people ahead of me. Guard let in people one or two at a time. He directs you to your left, bottom of steps, where a woman confirms you do indeed have an appointment AND have signed up for your loomis/dhl
*Walk up stairs (5-6 steps) wait at a door to proceed and do a security check. They took my coat and everything in my coat in one bin. And my papers/folder/passport in another. took a whole 60 seconds. I brought a small wallet and my car key. That's it. no bags allowed anyway
*After security they tell you to take a door on the left downstairs and to wait in the designated area. There is a photo booth there. 10$ for pictures. STAY NEXT TO THE ELEVATOR (i wouldn't have known if it wasn't for VJ <3) They screen everyone who was scheduled for 7:40 and once that's done, they allow you to take the elevator up to the 19th floor. I waited about 15 mins. Got in , faced the back doors.
*Once on the 19th floor... a greeter gives you a number. Everyone should be in single file anyway.I got #2. I was told to take my seat and wait to be called. I waited 10 mins. I was called to window 2.
*At the window she asked me for my documents. I forgot to make a copy of a translation of my divorce. She said I needed to pay 1$/page. I had to go to window 14 A...get a receipt and go back to the woman. I had to pay the exchange. It's 1.10$.
*I noticed she hadn't taken my copy of DS-160 so I mentioned it. She said it was ok and she didn't want it. Then I said I have my "Proof of Relationship" to which she replied "Keep it for the interviewer". Then I took a seat and waited.
*About 15 mins later , I was called to window 9. I was greeted with a smile. She asked me to read aloud the text on the window. It's a couple paragraphs basically swearing an oath to no lie , be fraudulent and be truthful to the best of your knowledge. She returned my originals
She asked me What my fiance did. What i plan to do. If I have kids. If this was my first marriage. If he has kids. We spoke about how long it takes by train to get to my fiance. I offered the give her the "Proof of Relationship" she said she didn't need it.
Without exaggeration, I was there for 5 mins. Probably less. She told me I was approved and to expect the Visa/Passport to be delivered to my DHL within 1-2 weeks.
****Everyone was polite. Friendly.
There is a vending machine, fountain and Bathrooms on the 19th floor
They didn't need my CD from my medical.
Make extra copies of everything. Or you will pay 1.10$ / page. I really didn't think to make a copy of a translation. My bad.
Standard no Cells, helmets, bags, electronic keys etc..
Dress appropriately cause you WILL wait outside until they let you in regardless of when you're scheduled , and let's face it. It's getting effin nippy.*****
Good luck everyone <3 |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
