Local US CIS Office Review: New Orleans LA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : February 11, 2014
Embassy Review : We were a little nervous, just b/c it's an important interview. We arrived 30 minutes before our interview scheduled time. Put our form into the slot and waited. They called us in about an hour after our scheduled time. We were greeted by a friendly lady who directed us to her office. We remained standing and swore our oath to tell the truth. We sat and discussed about our case. She asked how we met. Where we met. If we lived together before we got married. Our address. She asked for both our ID's, our passports (or other documentation from the list, but we gave our passports), our birth certificates, our marriage certificate. She verified some of the data we had submitted on the applications with me (the sponsor). She went through the questions that my spouse had answered on the application, with him. She asked for our proof of bonafide marriage. I gave utility bill with both our names, check book (she said they don't like checkbook, but prefer bank statement which I did not have), copies of my putting my spouse on the title to the house, copy of my beneficiary info, pictures of our travels ( I gave about 10 pictures from all throughout our time together, including a pic from our marriage day. All our pics are on the computer, so I had to print out the pics before the interview). After a little more small talk, she said that was all she needed and she would review our case. We left without knowing if we were approved. Later that same day, we checked our status on the USCIS website and it said they were producing our card and it would arrive in 30 days.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
