Comments : Biometrics appointment was a breeze. The ASC was 1.6 miles from my place. Reported to the appointment 5 minutes before scheduled time. Approached the reception and showed the appointment notice. She asked for the Green Card and stamped the appointment notice. Was given a clipboard with the appointment notice, Green Card, and a form to fill out. Filled out the form and reported back to reception desk. Given a token and asked to wait. Hardly waited when called to the Biometrics area. The official took a photo, finger printed me. Was kind enough to retake the photo because I did not like it. I was done in less than 15 minutes. Everyone was polite, courteous and professional. Got to get that FBI identification record now.

Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 18, 2014
Embassy Review : My previous review was incomplete and I can't edit it, so rest of my review goes here. After sorting single applicants and multiple applicants from same family in two lines, I think the single applicants were dealt with first. I was given a review sheet, a paper explaining legal rughts available to immigrant victims and another paper asking to arrange my documents in the following order:

1. DS-260 Confirmation page
2. Two photographs 2x2 inches
3. Medical report (No X-ray report needed)
4. Police clearance certificate from the passport office
5. Original and photocopy of birth/marriage/divorce decree certificate
6. I-864, I864A and updated tax returns

I was also given a token number and asked to wait opposite a window. When my token number was displayed on the screen, I went to the window where a pleasant Indian lady greeted me and confirmed my name, my parents' names, contact information and asked whether interview in English was okay. She returned my originals submitted to NVC and I checked whether I got back everything. She took my medical report, DS-260 confirmation page, passport, two photographs. Everything else was already there and she organized it in a folder for me and asked me to wait for my interview. My number was called again to another window where American Consular Officer, Justin N. Bloom took my interview. He asked me to raise my right hand and read the oath from a paper. He then asked me if I understood what oath I had taken. Then I was asked to place gour fingers of my right hand on the scanner. He then asked questions:

When was the last time you saw your husband?
When did he arrive in India?
When does he plan to return?
Was he married before?
What was his date of marriage?
I didn't know the answer to this and I told him so. He said it's going to be very difficult if I didn't have dates for him. He then asked me when did I think he got married, was it a long marriage or a short marriage?
When did he get divorced?
Why did he get divorced?
Were there any kids?
Was I married previously?
When was I married?
When did my previous marriage end?
Why did it end?
Did I have any kids?
Where was my ex-husband living?
How did I know? Was I in touch with him?
Was I related to my current husband?
There is significant age gap between you and your huband, didn't you find anyone about your age?
How the marriage was arranged?
When did the marriage take place?
How many people attended?
Were my parents present?
Were his parents present?
He asked to see photos and I gave all photos with descriptions and he asked no more questions and said I had been approved. I thanked him and left.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
