Embassy Review : The interview was amazing, time consuming yet successful. My interview was set at 9:30 I got there at 8, stayed at a coffee shop for 30 minutes with mom had breakfast and then I left mom there with other people that are also waiting their interviews. At 8:30 I was at the gate I was checked by the security guys and then I went to the consulars took a number and waited for my number (7) to be called to window 6 for immigrants. I was called at 9:25 a.m , I took my whole papers and stood at the window , he asked me who is the person that applied for my visa, I told him my fiancé , he asked me about his name and where he works at . I answered him , he then told me so you met through Facebook I said I already have known him since 2004 but yeah Facebook is the social media that got us closer together. He checked my individual record, police record and family record . He was a very nice guy and we were joking about the names of my siblings because my old brother is called Ghassan, my name is Ghinwa , my sister is Ghina, and my youngest is Rola , so he told me why didn't you call her with an initial of G not R so I told him in French the R is spelled G . We laughed them he told me great , give me the affidiate of support presented by your fiancé, I gave it to him , he smiled and told me , go pay and get me the receipts. I went back outside to a different building within the embassy, got checked again, paid the $240, invited the cashier guy to the American wedding and got the receipts . I left the cashier , got checked, and entered the consular again gave him the receipts and he told me great thank you now please wait for me to call you back again. It was around 10:30 I stayed sitting there till 11:15 when I was called to door number 7 to enter a room. I went inside and met an American interviewer that was so adorable and nice . She asked for my finger prints , there was a small screen infront of me where she took my finger prints from. Then I raised my right hand and I swore ( I repeated every word she said) then I sat down and she was smiling . She told me so I saw that you and your fiancé are related I said yes she told me are you blood related I was like no we only have mutual cousins cuz his aunt married my uncle . She then told me where does your fiancé reside ? I told her he recently moved to sand rock road San Diego , then she asked me how long have you known him?! I said we got together on September 12,2011 and in the summer of 2012 we got engaged . Then she told me have you ever left the country with your fiancé I said yes , last month we went to the Maldives to see whether we can live together before getting married. She said Wooow Maldives . Then she asked me did you fiancé finish his MBA program?! I told her no not yet. Finally she said do you have any pics?! I was like I have tons!!!! I showed her 3 and I was proceeding to show her the other 20 pics she told me stop stop you guys look so in love , YOU ARE APPROVED !!!! I was like thank you so much she gave me back the receipts and I asked her can I buy my ticket yet ?! She said ofcourse, pass by next Wednesday to take your passport with the visa on it! I told her thanks again ma'am she said have a safe trip !!!
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : My wife and I just had our interview today at the San Diego Office (Edward J Schwartz Federal Building) in Downtown. It was such a pleasant experience We arrived at exactly 9:15 AM (our appointment time) and we probably only waited 5-10 min after we checked in. Our interviewer, Roy, apologized for the delay although it really wasn't much, and he was so friendly, polite and welcoming. We went over to his office where we were sworn in. He collected some basic information from wife (the beneficiary) such as the EAD card, Social Security, California ID, as we talked and joked around. He asked her a few questions if she had committed any crimes before or after entering (a lot of the same stuff that is on the I-485 form). He then proceeded to ask us about how we met and our story which we had no problem telling him from start to finish. He took a lot of notes. We showed him our wedding photos from the downtown courthouse among others. He approved us right away and went on to explain to us that we would have our Green Card in 7-10 days (after which we would have to destroy our EAD card). He also told us that it would take 3 years from today for my wife to be eligible for US citizenship, after which she can apply for her parents and/or siblings. We would have to renew the Green Card online within 2 years (about 22 months from today) so that it doesn't expire. All-in-all it was a very smooth process and delightful experience thanks to Roy :D

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
