Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 30, 2014
Embassy Review : My wife went to the interview at 7:30 morning. Her interview was at 8:30 am. the day before interview she finished her biometrics which took about 15 minutes at VAC.
about 8:15 am she was called by an Indian officer whom my wife submitted PCC and medical. HE did not take I-864 but he took my w2s for last three years. (I believe may be because I had I 864 submitted in November which may be considered as recent) HE asked one question: who is calling you? After that my wife was advised to wait for her number.
about 20 minutes later she got her name. The CO was a young white lady. She asked the following questions:

Who is calling you?
Is he working for the Police department?
When and how did your husband go to USA?
Was he married before?
Why did he divorce?
Why did he change his last name? (I did not change my last name but I removed kumar from my first name when I became citizen)
When did he visit you last time?

She asked to see some pictures. She went through marriage album and told my wife you are approved and you will get your passport within a week.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
