Comments : To God all be the glory!

I got there at the US embassy 0515am for my 0615am appointment and behold about a hundred of people are already in the line waiting. Whoa! seriously?! There are two lines: for immigrant and non-immigrant visas. I brought my brother with me, good thing because I thought I could surrender my cellphone in the US embassy guard but they don't collect cellphones, so if you will go there alone, don't bring your cellphone. I just gave cellphone to my brother and told him to wait for me.

0600am the line if already moving. The guard outside will collect the first page of the appointment letter and sign it. She also put a sticker with a number on my passport and place it inside the zip-lock bag (your passport should not have a plastic cover or any of that sort), return the signed appointment letter and give you a form for 2go service with a sticker that's has the same number on your passport. After that we went inside no any electronic gadgets are allowed, not even USB. Then body frisking. We lined up for window 1, 2, and 3. There, I gave my first page of appointment letter, and she verified it. she gave me back my appointment letter together with my stub number.

0730am We went inside further and entered Gate 2. There we surrender the first page of appointment letter. I sat down and waited for my number to appear on the screen.

0800am My number appeared and my window number which is 42. I did my biometrics. She asked my name, my birth date, and my petitioner's name. After that she told me to sit back and wait for my number to appear on the screen again.

0840 My number appeared again with my window number which is #54 for the Filipino consulate. She asked my name and how old I am. She asked my petitioner's name, When did we meet, when did we meet personally. What is his work and his address. Have I applied for a visa before, is he divorced, do I have a child, does he have a child. She did not ask any documents. She told me to sit down again and wait for my number to be flashed in the screen again.

0915am My number flashed with my window number, 63. An American male consulate interviewed me. We did oath taking first and scanned my right hand. He asked me my petitioner's name, Where did we meet. How many times he visited me, How long did he stayed here in the Philippines. And he commented; oh, so you know each other well. Does he have a house, and where will you live in the US? And what is his work. After that he gave me a pamphlets about my rights, and he said to read it. a minute has passed and he said, "This is good now. Congratulations. Please sit down and wait for your number to be called for the instruction of your visa. I smiled and thanked him.

0945am My number called to proceed to window number 73. I was so nervous, I thought I have done something wrong with the process because the 5 persons in front of me, their case/documents have a problem and he are instructing them to comeback within a month to complete their docs. Then when its my turn he asked my name, he browsed my folder and said, this is okay. please submit your 2go form to window 68 for your visa delivery. and I found relief.

I asked the lady that I will pick up my visa at MOA 2go office.

at 0945, I am out on the US embassy.

Really tiring but all worth it when I heard my husband's voice (right after I got out from the US embassy building I called him) And he said, "I am proud of you." The sweetest words I got after the long hours of worrying and nervousness.

To God all be the glory, I could not get through this far, without Him.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
