POE Review: Newark
Event Description
Entry Date : 2011-01-14
Embassy Review : I came through to Newark from Halifax in Canada. The CBP officer I spoke to was in Canada though. I was coming for 1 month originally and I brought my cat with me.
He asked me the normal questions, whats the my reason for visit I said pleasure. He asked how much money I had and where and with who I would be staying with. He questioned about my ties to Canada, I didnt really have any strong ties to Canada. He said next time I really need to bring more proof that I have ties to Canada. Then he stamped my passport with B2 stamp and sent me on my way. He wasn't mean or anything, just very straightfaced , and I was really nervous talking to him because I had no idea at that time about the whole intend to immigrate questions, where they have to assume everyone is a possible immigrant. So I was really nervous talking to him lol, but took only about 5 minutes or so then he let me through. No secondary or anything
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
