Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 29, 2016
Embassy Review : Sorry for the late review.
Once again my husband has been denied under 221(g)
So my husband went for the interview on Nov 15, 2016 @ 8:30 am.
He got there his paperwork taken and I supposed, screened.
He said in less than 30 mins, he was called to the counter for his interview to begin.
The CO is a bald-head middle-aged black man. My husband said this man has an unfriendly look.
My husband was told to raise his hand to take the oath . Then Co remarked that "this is not your first time here, so you know the grill" (I think he meant drill).
Questions:
Where have you traveled to before?
Why was your k-1 denied?
Why are you applying for spousal visa now?
Where did you meet?
How we met?
Our first meeting? How I proposed? Engagement date? Knocking Date?
How did you get to know each other

Then CO asked him start over how we got engaged?
Engagement date?

Asked if we talked about the process (immigration process)?
Why didn't we marry earlier? (this was asked 2x
My husband said he was typing as he answered. And my husband also said CO said our wedding pictures could be just any ordinary ceremony.
We had more pictures from the different trips.
According other folks, this CO has a habit of repeating his questions.

Evidence Submitted:
Joint Tax 2015 (MFJ)
Tax Transcripts 2014,2013 (single filing)
Wedding Album
1 western Union Receipt ( was sent around wedding to help with expenses)
Pictures from all 3 trips
Pictures from proposal
Passport stamps for all trips
Flight ticket confirmation
Luggage tags
Facebook chat (2009 to 2016)
Facebook Post (2012 to 2014)
WhatsApp Messages and calls
Email Subject line screenshot from 2012 to 2016
Traditional Engagement Pictures ( wife was absent)
Wedding Registries screenshots
Bridal Shower Pictures
Wedding Gown Shopping pictures (try on)
Wedding cards from friends
Email Communication between us and our pre-marital counselors
Email communications between husband and my parents
Life Insurance policy Beneficiary (Husband as beneficiary)
Employer Disability Beneficiary (husband as beneficiary)
SSNIT Pension Beneficiary (wife as beneficiary)
Post cards
Marriage Certificate

CO didn't pay much attention to our evidence. With the limited amount of time it took for them to screen our evidence and call him to the counter, we believe he didn't look at them. And the comments from CO only add to our suspicion that, he had made up his mind from the K-1 denial and there was nothing we did or did not do to make him come to that decision.
This CO is not nice at all.
We are waiting for the NOIR. I hope this review helps others prepare. be encouraged!!
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
