Was told at the interview on 2012-09-04 that we would be contacted in a couple of weeks. So far we have heard nothing and do not expect to hear anything anyway soon. It seems that most people are undergoing AP and for lengthy amounts of time. Upon calling DOS we were told that it is processing and we should allow 6 weeks to hear something. Not sure what that is supposed to mean.

2012-12-24 Received welcome packet and 2 year Green Card.

2013-01-07 Started at my new job!

Embassy Review : We scheduled the taxi the night before. We left the guest house at around 6:17AM and we got to the shuttle station around 6:45AM. We deposited our cell phone and then went through security and eventually caught the shuttle. We got to the embassy finally and the USC and I went through two separate security points. Then inside we waited on the right hand side to be called for fingerprinting. The USC waited for me and I was fingerprinted. Then we eventually were called into the actual interview waiting room area. I was later called to sign the DS-230 by aa long haired Pakistani man and then given a burgundy square sheet with a number on it. Then I waited more with the USC. There were others who were interviewed before me and I was amazed that you could hear their interview over loude speaker. I guess maybe the interviews are being recorded now or pehaps that is just so that they hear you more clearly through the glass window. I was called with the USC to the window #4 where a white blond-haired man around 48 or 50 something conducted my interview. He asked the USC more questions that he asked myself. I feel like most of the interview was given to the USC and not me. The first question was even given to the USC. The interview was easy and short but the questions were quite odd. Nothing relationship specific at all other than to see the wedding pictures and he barely looked at them. All documents were given back that we submitted to USCIS and we were shocked at how it went. We even had our interview by 8:00AM and were out of the door and home by 9:00AM.

POE Review: Chicago
Event Description
Entry Date : 2012-12-05
Embassy Review : My plane landed at Chicago airport finally after 30 hours, had layovers in Dubai and London. As soon i reached to the passport control section a guy told me to go to visitors line. I waited about 20 minutes in line and finally it was my turn. Immigration officer was in his late 30's i gave him my passport and that borown envelop received from the embassy. He asked me to put my four fingers of right hand on electronic finger prints machine and left the counter and came back with a pink folder. He put my envelop and passport in this pink folder and handed over to me and said something like " go get your luggage and submit this envelop at exit as i gave it to you, the counter you will submit it they will take care of this envelop today" i thanked him and left. I got my luggage from customs area with out any hassle it was there before i got there and went towards exit # 2. As soon i entered in this exit area i saw a counter on my left and it had a board on this as " Only new immigrants". Guy there told me to put my luggage beside the wall and have a seat. After 10 minutes i think he called my name and asked me to sign twice at a form and took a finger print of my one right hand finger manually with ink pad and asked me to exit. I put my luggage in X ray machine and and after scanning i was out Alhamdulillah. After buying a bottle of water and calling my mom, dad and wife i was ready to go towards terminal 3 to take my last connecting flight to be with my wife, my love finally alhamdulillah. By grace and blessing of ALLAH POE was awesome not even a single question was asked. But i only have one advice to people. Please buy a international calling card before to travel i bought a calling card at chicago airport for $10 and it only gave me 1 international minute to call my mom.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
