Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 3, 2012
Embassy Review : My husband had his interview at the Amsterdam consulate on February 27th, 2012. The interview was scheduled for 1:30, and he arrived early, just before 1 pm. Because he was so early, they told him to scram until closer to 1:30, so he went and had a coffee and came back to he consulate at around 1:15 pm. He was second in line, and once inside had to wait an hour to be seen. Once it was his turn, he was told to sign his DS-230 Part II, and was asked a few basic questions - where and when did you meet your wife, when did you get married, and they asked a question about why one of the police certificates had been unobtainable (we had a reasonble justification which they immediately accepted.). Once that was done, the consulate took his passport and told him he would have his passport with visa within a week. Yesterday the passport was delivered to his local post office, and my husband picked it up today - four working days after the interview. Overall it was an easy, relaxed, non-stressful experience. Now it's just a matter of finding an affordable one way ticket!

Thank you to everyone on VJ who has helped us with this process. We couldn't have done it without you.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
