Comments : I had a lay over in New York. I waited approx. 1 hour before receiving back the passport with the I 94 form attached so that I could run to catch my connecting flight to SFO. They just asked me: So are you immigrating here now? I answered yes and they let me go.

Comments : Interview was at the USCIS office in Sansome Street, Downtown San Francisco. We had an officer of Chinese origins. It was ok - she honestly didn't ask us a lot of questions but she was second guessing lot of information we provided, but honestly for no reason. For example: we moved in July to a new place and of course we changed the address with the USCIS as well but she didn't have it updated on her file...We told her that if this was not the right address, how could we have received the interview letter???. This really shows that even if you update correctly your information still they don't communicate between offices. This shouldn't happen. She asked for some pictures of our wedding, the lease of the house where we live in, joint bank accounts and how/where we met. She didn't approve us right away. She gave us a letter stating Further Review...but I guess they do this all the time. The same afternoon we checked our status on line and it was already updated as approved and that my green card was ordered.

Event Description

Embassy Review : Yesterday got my interview. Approved! Now waiting for the Embassy to send me back my passport together with the visa! Everyone has been very nice. It took just a bit more than an hour to me. I got called in on time (my interview was exactly at noon). A lady just asked me to give her all the forms requested (everything was fine) and she even told me that there was no need to give her any evidence of ongoing relationship (had I known this a bit before...I could have finished my package earlier...oh well, the important thing is getting approved!). Then came the interview with another employee...I didn't have the watch with me but I don't think it lasted more than 5-6 minutes. Easy questions: How did you meet your fiancée? Why did she come to Spain? How long have you been living in Spain? (As you might see from our profile I am an Italian citizen with Spanish residence). Have you ever met each other's family? What kind of job does your fiancée do in US? What kind of job do you think you will find? When do you want to leave? (You can imagine my answer...ASAP!!!). He then explained to me that I might wait for 10 days to receive my last package from them with my passport, visa and a sealed envelope which I have to give to the US custom officer when I enter the US (together with the medical examination results that they had already given back to me after the first paperwork screening)...he then stated that my case was APPROVED (!!!) and wished me the best of luck. They have been so nice to me! One remark: all conversations were in Spanish language, which I found a bit odd since I'm in an American embassy but I was fine with any language.

By the way I also want to mention that everytime I had doubts (the weeks before my interview or while preparing my package) they answered to me very fast!
I couldn't ask for any better...maybe for a faster approval!!! LOL
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
