Consulate Review: Singapore Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : May 28, 2018 Embassy Review : Our interview was initially scheduled on May 16, but I got a call from the embassy a week prior to that informing me of a delay of two days due to an "internal event" (presumably it's the preparation for Trump Kim Summit). We got to the the embassy on that Friday afternoon, and it was very quiet. After two security check points we were let in to the room. Frist widow was for documents checking, and a few questions were asked: Can I see your Singapore resident card Do you have the latest tax return? Do your guys have children? Your husband's divorce decree is not a certified copy. (huh oh) I then proceed to the interview with the CO after a while. -How long have you been married -Where and when did you get married -What is your Singapore address -Are you here for who's work? -How did you meet your husband? -When are you going to relocate back to the US- I was reminded of the requirements for maintaining my green card The application was approved at the interview but I have to submit the certified copy before I can get my visa. Fortunately, it was Friday and we are 13 hours ahead, so my mother-in-law went down to the district clerk to get the copy and Fedex-ed to us. We received the document on Monday evening and I drop it off next morning to Aramex Chinatown. It was delivered to the embassy two days later after I dropped it off, and the visa was issued the next day. Some tips - Aramex in 2 Chanai Street can save you at least one day for drop off or pick up- They seem only to drop by Chinatown location once a day in the afternoon - Be aware of local and US holidays- we had memorial day and Vesak Day in a row Rating : Very Good
