Comments : Phoenix is the second slowest office for AOS according to VJ's stats. From AOS filing to the interview was 530 days for us. Our interview officer said our case took about two months longer than usual, so about 470 days sounds like the current average as of mid-2019. The interview was very easy and went smoothly.

Local US CIS Office Review: Phoenix AZ

Event Description
Review Date : June 11, 2019
Embassy Review : We are K1 filers that went through EAD/AP biometrics and AOS through the Phoenix office. While processing times appear to be very slow in Phoenix, the actual office itself appears to be well-run. In both our biometrics and AOS visits, everyone was nice, friendly and professional, and we have nothing at all to complain about.

Our case officer made a point to put us at ease, and went through all the interview questions thoroughly. He combined some of the questions (especially all those "are you communist" ones) so that one "no" covered all of them to save time. Our interview was mostly just a conversation where he watched how we interacted.

We were a bit surprised on our AOS visit by the length of the security line. It wasn't huge, but it did take us about 10 minutes to get through due to a number of families being processed. During our biometrics visit security probably didn't even take a minute to get through. Definitely make plan to arrive early just in case.

As others have noted here, the building itself is accessible and has tons of parking available. They keep the AC turned down pretty low, so even in the summer if you're sensitive to cold you might want to have a light sweater around just in case.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
