Interview on December 21, 2015 denied, 221g, returned to NVC April 7, 2016, received USCIS on May 11, 2016, NOIR issued 3-13-2017, received NOIR 3-28-2017 response filed and received 4-11-2017, entered as received by USCIS 4-13-2017. Awaiting adjudication of the NOIR. Took approximately 4 months to return to NVC one month to get to USCIS and 10 months to get a NOIR after inquiry by Ombudsman.
Reaffirmed June 5, 2017 . USCIS mailed to NBC 7-17-2017. Waiting for NVC to receive and forward to Ghana.
Our reaaffirmed petition was received in Ghana August 23, 2017. We picked up instructions for online scheduling on 10-13-17. Set our date for 11-29-17. Approved , status changed to issued on 11-30-17. |

On 11-29-2017 my husband went in for our long awaited reaffirmed petition interview. We arrived at about 7:45 for an 8:30 appointment. They check i personnel allowed hi. Entry at 8:00. He waited about two hours before submitting his documents and taking bios.
While submitting documents the person taking the docs asked how long ee have been married, commented on a picture we submitted of us with a cheetah in South Africa on one of our vacarions. My husband said he was filling a form similar to a matrix of the documents and information.
He then sat down and waited approximately 30 minutes before called to window 9. His officer was a young man, and my husband said he was kind, reslectful and my husba d felt very at ease. Here is the conversation:
My husbands name by officer addressing him...your visa has been approved.
Gave him a white slip with highlighted instructions to pick up his visa.
Mr...i will give you your passport so you may re enter the embassy at 1:00 to pick up the documents from your case , please be sure to return today at 1:00.
We returned at 1:00, had a bit of a delay , picked up the documents from our original interview, noir and what we brought with us. He left his passport to be given to the officer for processing.
On 11-30-17, our status changed to issued.
My husband was asked no questions at his interview. Was only given instructions to pick up docs, he is approved and instructions to pick up his visa.
I believe this embassy is trying very hard to change the reputation, yet follow the law and be practical in application of the law. They will continue to approve and deny , im hopeful it isnt arbitrary anymore and within scople of the INA laws for a fair and respectful process.
As frustrating as this process has been and the long journey , it was worth it. Now for the life journey we fought so hard for to begin.
