Consulate Review: Auckland, New Zealand
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 22, 2018
Embassy Review : I arrived a bit "too early" for the interview (about 45 minutes before) and was asked to come back in 30 minutes.
Staff were very friendly, from the security to the actual interviewers. The correspondence sent via email (for packet 3 - instructions) the months before was very helpful and friendly.
The day of my interview there were only 2 people including myself so the room was very quiet. I could hear some questions they asked the person before me who also applied for a K-1 visa, and these were quite different from my questions. My interview took about 5 minutes. Two staff were there, one being my interviewee and another appearing to be his supervisor (maybe he was new to the job I guess). Questions asked included our engagement date, my fiance's name, my job in New Zealand, my time in NZ. The majority of the questions felt focused on my life in NZ more so than our wedding or future marriage. It felt professional and a positive experience for me
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
