Consulate Review: Morocco Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : December 19, 2018 Embassy Review : I will not list how my wife dressed or when she arrived nor left. With all due respect to other posters, I find it irrelevant as it has little to nothing to do with Visa approval or Denial. My wife and I over prepared and prepared some more. Before she left for her Interview, we reviewed and double checked all documents. However, when she presented her documents, a young Moroccan man, clerk maybe, told my wife she was missing something. As I wrote earlier, we over prepared; She had extra copies and that took care of the issue. The young Moroccan man told her our Marriage Certificate Translation was not the same one I had submitted to CEAC. Indeed, It was the same Translation and my wife had yet another copy and another Translation. We are still trying to understand why the clerk insisted the Translation was not the same. Again, she handed both to the young fellow. Eventually, he told her to proceed to her Interview with the American Counsel Officer. Before, she left, she asked the young Moroccan if he had needed anything else. He replied he had everything. My wife says the CO looked pleasant and welcoming. As she stood in front of the American man, she could see a 221G and a Yellow form next to his Laptop/Desktop, as if they were for her. He asked: 1- When did your husband move the States? Why? 2- What does he do for living? 3- How many times has he visited you? 4- Was he married before? She wanted to share passport stamps to show I had visited four times, but the CO pleasantly said it was not necessary. However, he did look at some Photos and decided not to look through the Wedding album. My wife feels he was convinced our marriage was Bona Fide; His body language was positive. He did not seem to be concerned about our finances either as I had submitted Tax returns, Transcripts, W2 s, Pay-stubs, Employment records and more. I have had the same job for 20 years. Surprisingly, the CO pushed my wife s passport back to her along with the dreadful 221G and a Yellow form Highlighting "Translation". Mind you the young fellow took the Translations already. My wife asked if her Visa was denied, the CO shook his head "NO" "We will email you some questions." My wife replied "DS?" He nodded yes and said "It will take little time…". The yellow form instructed us to submit the Translation along with her passport to Aremax and we did just that. Also, we received the DS-5535, completed it and emailed it. There is a FB group" DS 5535 K1 and CR1 Morocco" where some have been waiting for over a year. I often argued with members on that page that people are not placed on AP just because they were from a certain region. Repeatedly, I was told I was wrong and that all from Fez, Northern and Eastern Morocco are subjects to long AP waits. I am trying to keep this short, but let me tell you that I make enough to support my wife four times over. I have a great career with full benefits. My wife has never been outside of Morocco. She has a record clean as a whistle, with a good career too. Not one person in her family has a criminal record. My wife and I strongly believed we had a slam-dunk Visa in hand within days. I even made flight reservations and reserved a room at a nice Hotel in NYC with dinner reservations at a nice restaurant in Manhattan. The interview outcome was a shocker and a nightmarish outcome. Today, we are staring at the unknown. My wife is a beautiful young lady with Fashion and Cooking shows on her FB along with our pictures. She is the farthest person from causing any problems not in Morocco, not here and not anywhere. Bottom line, my Princess was put on AP and we have just submitted the DS-5535. We can only hope she receives her Visa soon to come home, but …. No buts. Let s remain hopeful and maybe, just maybe the new Congress will speed up the process. My wife and I are not apposed to Extreme Vetting. Actually, we would never ever oppose anything that is done doe the security of our Nation. We only hope there would be a faster system, and I suggest everyone must be Vetted. Rating : Moderate
