Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 28, 2016
Embassy Review : My husband's interview was at 7:00. He was there until about 12:00. After he went through the formalities of the paperwork to get in and the fingerprints, he was told to have a seat and wait for his name to be called. He had a male consular officer. And these are the questions he was asked:

Who's filing for you?
If I have any children?
How old is my daughter?
How many times have I come to Jamaica?
How we met?
He asked for pictures of me and husband
He showed my husband pics that I sent with the petition and asked him who were the people in them. (Some were me with his family and a few of one of my friends who visited once with me with his family)

He had my husband sign a selective service registration form. He kept a copy and gave my husband a copy and told him to mail it in when he comes over.

He told my husband to make sure he's registered for DHL and once they receive the medical, it may take 1-2 weeks to get the package from DHL. (again, additional testing was required for the medical effective Oct 1 and he wasn't able to change his appointment to an earlier time. The results took an extra week and were not back in time for interview)

My husband said it was easy and I stressed myself for nothing, as he kept telling me to relax, we got this!

My advice is to RELAX and prepare. If you know each other and have all the paperwork/package together, you should be fine but still be prepared for the unknown.

Finally, I'm so glad to be over this first hurdle!!! And ready for us to begin our journey TOGETHER! Bless up!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Charlotte
Event Description
Entry Date : 2016-11-09
Embassy Review : My husband's experience was very easy and simple. His flight arrived at 6:30p and he was welcomed by my family at 7:05p, 35 min later! He said the officer was very kind. The officer opened his package, asked why he was coming here (he said his wife lives here), explained the documents to him (his passport stamp serves as his temp gc), and said welcome to America!
Harassment Level : Low

No. Still waiting for approval. Also had a pending 751. So I guess that’s the holdup.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
