Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 29, 2015
Embassy Review : We got to the embassy stop slightly before 6 am, they open the doors at 6 am
Passed through security and got online for shuttle tickets
There is a separate line for women, so if you are a woman or your female petitioner is with you it is faster to stand in the women's line for tickets
it is 200 rs per shuttle ticket
We were on the first shuttle to the embassy
once inside the embassy we were given a token number and papers on the courier service and on domestic violence
We were called up to the windows 3 times
1st they took our pictures and did fingerprints
2nd time they took our original documents and asked when we were married and if he wanted the interview in English or Urdu, he selected English
also, they had lost the pictures we had given when they took fingerprints, luckily I had brought 2 spare pictures just in case, so as a tip ALWAYS bring a couple extra pictures just in case
3rd time was the interview
They asked the following:
When and where were you married
How did you meet
How often did you talk on facebook
After how many visits did you marry
Where do I (the petitioner live) and what do I do
He then said that I should also feel free to answer any questions
Asked again about how we met (I answered)
he then said I am approving your visa

TIPS:
Do not wear heels, there is a ton of gravel you need to walk through to get inside the embassy
If the petitioner can, then have your petitioner attend the interview with you
Dress nicely
Try to get a good night's sleep before
Stay relaxed
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
