My interview was back in August 2016, however I forgot to write this review. I still wanted to share my experience as hearing other people's stories really helped me feel assured and know what to expect.

Looking back, I was so nervous about the interview even though I had no reason to be! I guess it's because it's such a big moment you build up to and by that point all you want to be is with your partner.

My appt was at 12, but I arrived around 10.30. Luckily I lived in NW London so the commute was pretty painless. They didn't let me in until 11, but once I was in it was kind of like going through an airport. Your bags go on a conveyor belt and then you are then 'checked in' at reception. I was given a number and told that I would be called up to a window twice. The first time I was to hand over all the documentation I was told to bring and the second time I would talk to someone and be approved or denied.

The man who I spoke to at the first window was polite, patient and made me feel at ease. I gave him my paperwork and he gave me back my xray scans and some other stuff. Afterwards, I sat back down and it was about an hour until I was called again.

This time, I spoke to a woman who was really friendly and asked me some routine questions about how my fiancee and I met, where we were going to live and what we did for work. It felt really natural and after a minute or so of talking she told me I was approved! I've never felt so much relief and happiness. Straight after, I called my fiancee and told her the news we'd be waiting for for so long.

A couple of weeks later and I was on a plane to my loved one and a month after that we were happily married!

Now for that EAD and Green Card to finally get here...
