Before the interview, I make sure that I have all the documents as listed on the packet 3 checklist and have applied for necessary police clearances from countries where I have lived in the past. For proof of ongoing relationship, I printed 3 email correspondence from the time I and my fiance applied for the visa. I also printed 3 facebook posts, and 3 screen shots of Skype conversations, printed itinerary and hotel booking and 12 photos from my fiance's second visit, which was between the visa process. My interview was on August 11 at 8:30 am. I arrived at the consular office at 7:35am. The security guard at the entrance gate told me to wait at Saint John's building, which is down the road across the consulate. I returned at exactly 8:30am. I had to pass through four (4) security posts before I could arrive to the Immigration Unit. Throw any food/beverages you have in your bag as they don't allow those inside. And all the prohibited things listed on their website. When I arrived to the Immigration Unit, after a while, an officer called me over the counter, and collected all the documents listed on the checklist. She was very nice and friendly, that she even noticed my teeth retainer and asked where I have it done. Just a friendly, light conversation while asking me to hand over the documents one by one. Some laughs in between. She asked some questions like how did I meet my fiance, how old is he, and informed me that they recieved the police clearances I applied (Hong Kong, Israel). Basically, they had all the required documents from me. After she collected all my documents, she told me to sit down. And after between 30-45 minutes of waiting, I was called to the counter again for the main interview. Again, the consul was friendly, asked questions almost similar to the first officer who collected my documents. And after maybe 5 minutes or less, she told me that my visa is approved. And congratulated me. And gave me instructions how and when to have the visa in hand. There's nothing to worry if your relationship is real. They are nice. Just answer the question as natural and as direct as possible. Don't say a lot of things they don't ask. It was a great experience! I just keep thanking God on my way back home!
