Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had an 8am appointment and arrived around 7:30. There were about a dozen folks already lined up. The outside security guard was very nice and checked appointment papers as we walked through the door. The guard on the search was very abrupt and took every opportunity to rudely correct anyone who didn't follow directions to the letter (if you are one step past the 'Stop' sign, watch out! There were some conflicting directions about when to go to the next floor as they were running a little late, so some people got a little confused.

We got to the 2nd floor (not 3rd as the letter stated), checked in, and sat down and waited for our names to be called. Once we got inside, we took our oaths, then the interviewer immediately put us at ease and told us he saw no problem with our case. We chatted for a bit, and then he asked a few official questions like whether we knew each other's full names and birthdays, and whether my husband knew our anniversary. He then asked for a few copies of photos and our house deed and bank statements for the bona fides for the file, said we were recommended for approval, and that was it! We were well prepared with mountains of paperwork that we didn't need, but better that than not having something he wanted. All in all, it was a very positive experience.
