Thursday July 25th is when I had my interview appointment at the Consulate General in Amsterdam at 13:30h (1.30pm local time).

I was the first in line and when I entered the building, I had to show my passport and appointment letter at the main desk. I also had to walk through a scan, similar to the ones you have at the airport. This is also where they scan your bag(s) if you have any with you.

Make sure you don't bring any electronical devices!!!
I didn't have one with me, but the security officer told everyone who did have an electronical device with them (such as a laptop or mobile phone) would have to wait +- 40 minutes to 1 hour longer than other people.

After they checked my passport, appointment letter and bag I had to walk to desk 5. This is where I had to give my birth certificate, 2 passport-style pictures, €7,70 stamp for registered mail and the I-134 including supporting financial documents.

When I gave all of my documents I had to take place in the waiting room until the consular officer called my name. I only had to wait 2 minutes before he called me to desk 6.

I've only been asked 5 questions before he told me 'alright, your passport with the visa will be send to you within 4-5 days'.

They didn't even look at all our relationship-evidence I brought with me, so I had been worrying for nothing. They really made me feel comfortable right away. This interview went really easy and was a pleasant experience.
