Positive experience. Everyone was very helpful and efficient. The Embassy collected our documents and then we proceeded with the interview for ~10 minutes where she asked 5 simple questions like "What do you do?", "Where will you live in the US?", "How did you meet?". There was no difficult questioning or interrogation. We have been together for 6 years, and had been living together when I was on a work visa in the US, so I had a previous US visa and a social security, which may have helped the process.
We had a police certificate from a country that coordinates and sends directly to the embassy prior to the interview but the embassy did not have it on hand during the interview. Because of this, we were issued a 221g for missing this police certificate. We thought this would cause a delay but the embassy was able to locate the documents 20 minutes after the interview and our case was approved shortly after on the same day. Visa was issued exactly 1 week from interview da... read complete review

My appointment was at 13:30. I Arrived at the consulate at 13:00. Was outside at 14:15.
Went through a general security check. You can leave you bag at the consulate, there is no need to use lockers in the area. Also do not bring in binders with hard covers or metal rings. I had an accordion folder with me which was fine.
After the security check you head into a room where a hostess got the paperwork ready for me and others. Basically everything they would ask for they gathered before you even go up to a window. The first time they call you up you hand off your documents, they scan them in and take fingerprints. You're then dismissed and have to wait. Once called again you are sworn to tell the truth and they ask you questions, at this windows you'll hear if it's approved or not. Between the call ups it's mostly just waiting.
Staff is friendly and helpful.

My CR1 interview on January 23, 2024 was easy. I must say, I have a very solid case. My USC wife has been living in the Netherlands for over 9 years and we have known each other for 8 years. Been living together for 4 years and have a child together.
I was in and out in around 75 minutes, mostly waiting between conversations. My appointment was at 8am with 6 others. We were called one by one to a window and that woman checked our original civil documents + passport. Then we had to wait again for the interview. After taking an oath, the officer askes me questions such as:
- Has either of you been married before?
- How long have you known your wife?
- Where does she live?
- What is her job?
- Where are you going to live in the US and why?
- What is your occupation?
Congrats, excellent case. Your visa is approved.
I asked her about the fact that NVC changed my last name (I applied with my married name. ... read complete review

Had to show my passport outside and say I had an appointment. Then through a metal censor. Immediately to window 2.
I gave all the documents there, I think the VOG original, birth certificate original and copy, I-134 + supporting docs and gave my fingerprints.
Then I waited a while before going to a different window. They asked: when did you meet? Where? When did we last see each other? What kind of work does he do? What kind of work do you do? Studied what? Where does he live?
And then 'do you want to get married?' So I said very happily 'yes!' And then she said it was approved.
