Getting into the embassy felt like I was going to jail and the native people working security, etc. outside the embassy were pretty rude. However, its like the closer you get to the embassy immigration agents the more the atmosphere changes. The immigration agent I spoke with was pretty pleasant and the experience was not bad at all.

Here we go. Our appointment was 9:00 am on the 27th of May but we got there at 7:30. Thank God my cousin only lived 30 min away. The line was long but got in the line and waited. We prepared for this interview for months and he had every document possible (phone records, facebook communication, letters/postcards, digicel top ups, moneygram receipts, three letter of reference (two from my family, one from his family), non-impediment, medical (dont bring x-rays), 4 passport pics, all required forms (DS230 etc...), addvadavit of support (packed with evidence), copy of our wedding website, copy of our bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen tux and grooms tux, all of our wedding receipts of things that were already bought, etc. They laughed at him at the embassy because he was the only one with an old school laptop bag full. So back to the story. They let him in early but I had to wait across the street which was hell but it was worth the wait. After 5 longs hours my fiance came out with a smile on ... read complete review

Ok,so we got there at about 7:00am for our 7:30 and 8:00am appointment(me and my daughter)We proceeded through the airport type security and into the courtyard. Hubby came along and was allowed to wait on us in the courtyard. As everyone said before the numbers are not called in order. Our first trip to the window was for finger prints and collection of medical. The lady asked if i had any docs for them and i said well i have 2010 tax papers dont know if u will need these and she said \"oh yes..good\" (they were never requested but thanks to VJ i got them just in case. Second trip was about 20 mins later swear in and interview. It was a nice white man about in his late 30\'s. Questions:
How did u meet
When did you meet
Who hit on who first
when was his first visit
where did he stay
how long did he stay (by this time he had already had me and my daughter sign the forms and told her to go sit down and then he stamped them \"approved\"...... read complete review

My fiance' arrived around 8:30 am for his 9 am appointment. As he stood in line out the embassy, one of the CO's came around to check paperwork and pointed out that some info was missing from one of the forms. He called me in a panic and was so upset I had to tell his cousin what to put on the form LOL. Fast forward to 4 1/2 hours later, he calls to tell me he was approved and will have to come back to Kingston in a week or two to pick up his visa, he lives to far in the bush for DHL I guess LOL.
He was first called up to the window to do his sworn statement and then they told him to sit back down. Then he was called back up and they asked if we went on vacation when I come to Jamaica, what was the name of the hotels that we stayed at. Did I eat fruit, did I drink fruit juice? Did he have any relatives in the US. How often did we talk and how often did I send him money. They never looked at any of the pictures or cards I sent to him. He said they asked him a whole heap o... read complete review
