SO
Oshane and I stayed in Kingston for the interview, we stayed a pretty reasonable hotel called chelsea hotel on chelsea ave for 40 dollars a night.
It was located about 15 minutes away from the embassy. 500 ja dollar taxi ride to get there.
our appointment was for 8:30 but we got there around 7:30, as long as you have an appointment letter it doesnt really seem to matter what time you show up they put you through regardless.
Once we arrived, there was a man outside who helped us with oshanes paper work, stapling passport pics and forms together, pretty much made it organized for the interview. He checked both our passports and led us to the line to enter the embassy. they call you in, you go through security, very similar to airport.
NO ELECTRONICS! you can have water but they will ask you to drink it infront of them, before you can enter.
After the security, you get to the courtyard area which is outside, with many chairs. this is wear ... read complete review

He went into the embassy about 8:45 for his 9:30 appointment, and he finished about 12:15. He had the young white guy interviewing him. He asked about 10 questions – here are the ones Lance could remember, not necessarily in order:
Write both our names on a piece of paper.
When did you meet your fiancé?
How many times has she visited you?
Where did you stay when she visited?
Has she ever been to Jamaica before she met you?
Where does your fiancé work?
What do you plan to do for work when you get to the US? (Lance said we would get married first and then after he got his work visa maybe security, because that’s what he does now – then the interviewer shook his head and said no, you should do something else because security isn’t as good of a job in the US as in Jamaica – nice of him to give tips!)
When you guys talk on the phone, what do you talk about?
Where is she now?
When is the last time you saw he... read complete review

The interview went well. My fiance was interviewed by a female CO. He said that she asked him to write my name and to sign his name. She asked how we met. He told her that I called him on the telephone (I got his number from his brother that I am acquainted with because I was planning a trip to Jamaica). She asked him about conversating with someone who just calls; his response was she was female, if it was a man that would be different. She asked to see pictures and asked about the difference in what I was wearing on New Years Eve and New Years Day. He explained that it was two different days. He had also showed her a poem that I had written and printed with pictures from my first trip there. He said that she really liked it. He said that while he was flipping through what he had, there were some Western Union receipts in his papers; she asked what is that, let me see those. He gave them to her and she asked the purpose of the transfers. He told her that I send money befor... read complete review

Be prepared to stay for a few hrs. he said they didnt ask him much because i gave them more than what was required. the phone log alone from july was like 150 pgs. anyway he did say he was glad he got a blk lady with dreads b/c there was a white man grilling people for 20 mins while his interview only took 5-8 mins. they asked how we met, how much time i been back, if he met my kids and where i work. they didnt lo... read complete review
