My fiancee's interview was scheduled for 7am this morning the 10th of November.
We arrived at the embassy just before 7, and walked up to the line with the BIG GREEN #3. We were immediately given a GREEN sticker and told to move to security.
Security was much like at an airport, but shoes do not need to be removed, and cell phones are kept until you leave.
After security you move to a line where you wait until you are told to wait in another line for a GREEN window. I think we were very fortunate that not only is the immigrant visa line very short, there were very few people there today for an immigrant visa.
Her turn at this first GREEN window didn't go as well as we had hoped. I was not allowed to be with her while she organized the papers to hand over. She did know exactly what everything was, but we were over organized and she was given a hard time for having everything separated and put into envelopes. (Here I would recommend having everyth... read complete review

We arrived at the embassy at 8:30am for our 9:00am November 9th interview. The lines were very long - hundreds of people. We walked past all the people to line #3 (the line for immigration) and there was a total of zero people in the line. Perfect! The woman controlling the line put green stickers on our shirts and we were let right in. Our electronics were confiscated at the security checkpoint.

Once we were in there was of course more lines. One with about 150 people and the one to the left which had zero people. We went to the line with zero people which was for immigration visas and we were then told to stand in front of one of the windows by the person controlling the lines.

There were two people doing the "pre-interviews" at these windows. I had read in the past that they give you a folder and a list of documents and to organize while you are line but they appear to have changed the procedure for the CR/IR visas. The person in the window has your doc... read complete review

It was a very easy process and staff is extremely friendly. My wife left the house at 5:40 arrived at about 6:00 for her appointment a 7:00 and it was perfect timing, not too early and not too late. At about 6:15 a lady started to separate the lines and it was organized in spanish. They take any electronics, so might as well leave them at home. She had to give them a few documents and then wait...It was a rather quick process and when she was called for the interview portion, the lady was extremely friendly and made small talk. My wife was not asked for any extra evidence and was approved rather quickly...Of course I am in the military and the interviewer was in the military for over 25 years, so that must have helped alot. Happy with the results and wife was out of the embassy by 10:00 am. Only bad thing is that they don't sell minutes around there, but other than that it was easy.

The early arrival is important. The waiting lines and announcements are in Spanish and organized. Phones with cameras are taken away, at security checking. Long lines for tourist visas. Well organized binder for documents is crucial. The document collection person was rough, annoying and demanding. The Instruction Package 4 requires more than what the collector person wanted, such as extra copies of I-134 and supporting documentation. She threw back many of the extra copies. She was asking lot of questions about my finance's child. The main question was; why was not she there, at the interview, even though, the Instruction does not recommend to bring the child in.
We did not have enough photos in the morning, but luckily we have them on a CD and we could print more of them, next to the Embassy, for few pesos. After the documents turn in, we had to wait for the interview for 2-3 hours. Most of the applicants were approved.
I strongly recommend that the Beneficiary answers... read complete review
