I moved to Slovakia during the spring of 2006 to teach English after undergrad. I met my wife during my employment in Slovakia, later found out that she was not happy to hear that she was going to have an American teacher. Apparently we had a bad reputation internationally between 2003-2008. Her opinion has obviously changed since then.
We did not start dating when we first met, since she was a student of mine. I later moved to Belgium for grad school and she moved to the UK for work. We started dating after I left my employer and had moved for school. We got engaged in the early summer of 2009, while on the Adriatic Sea with her family and we were married in Slovakia in October of 2009.
