  1. Hi all, I just wanted to ask to those here that received their passports, how long did you receive your supporting documents? I have been waiting for almost a month now and I was even able to get through the phone. Unfortunately the person I spoke to did not even bother to look at my case. I asked if it will show on their records when and if they sent my Naturalization Certificate and the guy said you will receive it within 10 days and I said well it has been well over 10 days now. He said that he can't provide me with any information because they are sent by first class mail. I thought that they have info on whether they sent it or not. That was my impression as some of you who have called said they were able to know if and when they were sent out. I wish that they have a trackable system when they return our documents. These are legal, and very important documents that we don't want to be in the open. It is quite frustrating but they seem to be not doing anything/ they do not have a sense of urgency regarding this.
  2. It's ok. You won't lose your status even if your green card expired. I had the same dilemma last March. I applied for citizenship last MArch 2020 but then my GC expires on MArch 2021. I had to call them several times because I was planning to visit my sick parents. But I got my interview scheduled on 23rd of March and my GC expired on MArch 1, 2021. It was fine. And after the interview, I got same day oath. They only took it and did not even ask anything.
  3. That is actually fast if you got your passport on July 3 and your Naturalization Certificate was returned to you on July 19. I am waiting for almost a month now. I got my passport book on June 26. My husband has not received his yet. The person I tlked to was just "hhaha backlog IS crazy". I tried to empathize with him and said "yup it is an understatement, I know" But apparently they don't have any way of tracking when they even sent it back. I thought I read somehwere here that you can give them a call and they can tell you when they sent it back. but this guy did not even care ad said "well, we don't have that information."
  4. Joining this thread.... For anyone here who has received their passports, what was your time frame when you got your supporting documents back? I have waited almost a month now and I have not received my documents yet. I am so frustrated that after I called this person did not even care. I wish they had a traceable system for this especially when returning your documents. These are legal documents that we don't want to be out in the open. I understand the backlog as my husband still has not received his passport. and it was just a renewal. I even missed my father's funeral because he did not have a passport. I on the other hand, received mine but it was already too late, since covid protocols in the Philippines required a 10 day quarantine and my passport arrived after the funeral. It was pretty useless at that time.
  5. Yes they gave me a passport application but she told me to call the Department of State because of Covid, they require an appointment. I don't know if it has changed again. For the passport, you would still need to mail that and they require the original Naturalization Certificate. So, I am applying at USPS since my whole family needs to have all of our passports renewed anyway. You can apply for an expedited one if you are travelling in a month or so. Here is their website for more info https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/.
  6. Hello!:) I don't think I was asked the meaning of the words in Part 12. But I think I know why you are asking, I also thought that the Part 12 words are going to be asked because I saw a video on Youtube, about them being asked about the meaningof those words like, totalitarian, genocide, paramilitary, guerrilla etc. but Like I said, I think I overprepared and I sort of memorized them. hahah :)) but I was not asked at all, as far as I remember. I think for part 12 she only asked me if I ever claimed to be a US citizen, voted in a federal office and do I owe any taxes. But I don't remember being asked about the part 12 words... I don't know with the other VJ members though. Also, yes there is an ipad where you will do the reading and writing test. They have a pen you can use to write on the ipad there and hand sanitizer. There is also parking near the building, right across the street. We parked on one for $13 for half a day. I think it was on 2nd avenue. My husband used an app called "parkwhiz". When is your interview if you don't mind me asking?
  7. I think you'll be fine. They won't really quiz you on the exact dates. And if they ever ask you about a date. They might.... or will most likely ask you the most recent one. My friend who was interviewed a couple of years ago, (but not in San Diego) said that she was only asked how many trips she's had and when was her most recent travel and where.. . So don't sweat on the dates. In my case, I was only asked which was my longest trip and how many days. I just printed my application so I am familiar with the questions. Hope this helps.:)
  8. Yes they do. After the Oath Ceremony, they immediately gave me my certificate, welcome packet and a passport application. Now, if you changed your name, I am not sure if you get your certificate right away, they might mail it to you, I am not sure about that though... Sorry ...
  9. Sorry for the late reply. Maybe you can refer to your passport for all the travel dates. She didn't ask me the exact dates, she just asked me where and how long we were there. BUT it might be different with each officer. You can also just print it out or refer to the application so you are familiar with the questions. You've got this:)
  10. Hi, Well I could not download my N400 application online as well after a year but good thing I downloaded the snapshot right after I filed. She didn't ask me anything that was outside of my application, I was filing based on the 5 year rule and she just asked me where I live, who do I live with and if I was still with the spouse I filed my I-751 before. How many children do we have? where I work or last worked. And my recent travels. That was it. I don't think that it will be an issue because, as far as you know what you put on the application you will be fine. I just printed it out for myself so I can review the dates, etc. But you're good to go:)
