  1. We finally received my wife's green card today ( 12/17/23 )..... We never got any notice it was approved, nor did we have an interview. Thank you GOD, and to all on here that has helped us along the way..
  2. My EAD took 11 1/2 months...... oh well, it is what it is, at least we got it
  3. Finally received our EAD and advance parole card today, one step closer.....
  4. Unless the laws changed recently, I thought the limit was $10,000.00 American money you could take with you. Every time I went, I would send my better half a bunch of money before I went, and then took 10K with me. I am really curious if the laws are different now.
  5. I responded to a RFE last August and have got zero response. All we can do is wait and see what happens
  6. I am also self employed in the grading business and had an RFE on income. They want AGI which buries people like us. My net income after expenses was over $100K but after all the depreciation I can use, my AGI was around $10K. I don't have the luxury of having a co-sponsor so I used assets. I have verified assets well over 7 figures and sent it all in and haven't heard anything yet. I told my CPA this year to make sure my AGI is over $30K to make sure all is good, even if I have to pay more in taxes I think it is worth it.
  7. I had the same thing happen a year ago with our k-1. She had a PSA copy that was completely illegible and a clear copy from the local Municipality. We sent both copies together and didn"t have a problem.......
  8. you are not alone, we files in June also and still waiting with no news........
  9. A couple years ago I bought a Ford F-450 in upstate NY and brought it to NC where I live. I had to meet with a man from DOT to inspect it before issuing a license plate for it. Lucky for me, it had the sticker inside the drivers door stating it met USA emissions. I remember him telling me is that sticker was NOT there, it would have been a long and troublesome procedure for me to get a license plate for it.
  10. in the sentence right before your "could", it states you MUST notify your agent
  11. My son has received his driver’s license. Do I have to add him to my policy, if he drops his own insurance? Yes, as long as he is a resident of your household. However, you must notify your agent or company. Failure to do so could jeopardize your coverage. This is from the NC insurance website. I am under the belief that this is the same as adding a wife that just got her license and does NOT have insurance already
  12. NC states you must list all drivers that are allowed to drive your vehicles on a regular basis. I know my insurance is a little different since my trucks are listed under my personal name, but also used for partial business use...
  13. I got a sweet deal on a Ford escape a while back. I figured it would make her a nice starter car. One thing to think about is insurance. My wife does not have her permit or license yet so the escape and my 5 other vehicles are on one policy in just my name. My insurance is just over $1,100.00 a year for all 6 vehicles. ( on paper, I am a good driver LOL ) Once she gets her license, I was told by my insurance guy to put the escape on it's own policy with both our names on it and expect her policy to be around $1,000.00 every 6 months for 2 years. At least that is what it is like in NC.....
  14. when my fiancee arrived in America, I got her a SSN and we got married within one month. Right after that I called Healthcare.gov. She was added to my BCBS plan right away. All I had to do was send a copy of the I-94 card, passport bio page and passport page with her entry stamp on it and all was good. My premium only went up $35.00 a month by adding her......
  15. He did a 6 month P&L as well as stating what my income after all expenses is at the end of June
  16. Got a quick question. I had my CPA do a YTD tax estimate and it shows my AGI around $25,000 for the first 6 months of this year. I have a written copy from him declaring this. Should I use this number for annual income, or this number times 2 for a yearly income? Thanks
  17. Being in Atlanta, you must have dozens of attorney's close by you can consult with. You are better off finding a local one IMHO Best of luck
  18. I just got a RFE for the I-864 last week. I couldn't make heads or tails of what was missing since they write it in a general way. Many people on here gave me some great advice on how to write it out next time. I did pay an immigration attorney a consultation fee today to get his input, $150.00 He gave a list of what I should do and different ideas. Myself, being a self employed contractor, makes it extremely hard on the I-864 since we don't have a constant paycheck every Friday and we can claim so many deductions on taxes, it shows we are below poverty level.
  19. The sponsor household size is in question here on the I-864. I have no children, no dependants. My wife has one child that is NOT in this country. Only my wife and I are living in our home with no one relying on us for anything. Did I do these numbers right? Thanks...... household.pdf
  20. I never thought of that but isn't that not being 100% forthright with them? what kind of complications could result from that? If it is something I could do legally, it is worth considering. Thank You
  21. Thank You, I thought of that too but I thought a truck load of assets worked too. I wish they would see the 60K in depreciation I have every year in taxes. I'm thinking of throwing my vehicles in too for assets, another 200K in assets that are paid for. I am just curious when enough is enough to prove to them I am viable and responsible...
  22. Hello All, I received an RFE today and was wanting your opinion on exactly what they are asking for. I am taking it as they completely lost my I-864. I do have an exact copy of the original I-864 I can send, but am wanting to make sure they are not asking for more evidence. I know being self employed, and a good accountant. I show below poverty level as "adjusted gross income". I submitted my property tax, and a letter from the bank showing my house is paid off, and stocks that have my assets close to 7 figures. I didn't feel I needed more assets if that is what they are asking for. Any help is much appreciated. TIA copy RFE.pdf
