  • Our Story
Well, this has been a long and often strenuous ordeal. My spouse and I met a little over a year ago. We knew that we were meant for each other the first time that we met. I know that this sounds cliché but I truly believe it was love at first sight. Anyway, we decided to get married in Vietnam, which turned out to be a big headache. We went through the whole ordeal of completing the Vietnamese Marriage application just to be turned away numerous times because of inconstancies between the Vietnamese Consular and the Department of Justice. After 2 visits to Vietnam and numerous visits to the Department of Justice to obtain our marriage license, we decided to go another route and file for a K-1 Visa. We filed the I-129F petition in September 2007. It wasn't until January 7, 2008 until we finally received the approval notice, which I guess wasn't too bad due to the delays caused by the fee increases. Well my fiancé finally received her interview date the other day. Her interview will be on May 14. We are both very worried because of all of the terrible stories that we have heard about how they treat those applying for their Visas. She also knows a few people who were denied their Visa because of problems encountered during their interview. We hired someone to manage and organize all of the paperwork because I was told that being unorganized is the main cause for denial. We are both just trying to stay optimistic and pray that we will soon begin our lives together.
