Hi everybody! We are Paul & Caroline. My name is Paul and I am 34 years old and I currently live in Wales. My fiancee, Caroline, is 34 years old and lives in Downey, California, my future home. We are shortly about to embark on our own K1 visa journey and we came to this site as we have found it very useful to take us through the process. We hope to share our journey as we proceed and look forward to hear about other couples who are going through the same ups and downs.
Caroline and myself met on a website in June 2004. It was lust at first sight! Since then we have met six times between November 2004 and May 2007 - I have flown to Los Angeles five times and Caroline has visited Wales once. We have tried to be together every five months so that we can keep the momentum of our relationship going. We know this will be the longest period apart, but it will give us time to save for the wedding, our new home, a new car and all the other things we have to fork out for once we are together.
I think we would both acknowledge that we have found our true kindred spirits. We have so much in common it is hard to believe sometimes that we have found each other against the odds. We know that there is a lot of hard work to go but having read many of the stories on here it has encouraged us to go through this process as soon as possible. Hopefully in a few months time we will be able to report on here that I am on my way to a new life in the United States with my new wife and step-daughter!
