You explained your situation just fine.
It’s very typical for Casa to place you in AP either for further review or while processing the issuance of the visa. Did they give your spouse a 221g form, a white approved slip, any details you can share about the interview to provide better feedback.
You can sense the direction of the case by the type of questions asked at the interview. Did you address the reason(s) the K1 petition was not approved when applying for the spousal petition? For Casa, having a child is not substantial evidence of a bonafide relationship, specially out of wedlock since that’s not the cultural norm and it’s often used as an immigration tool. Time spent together, living in Morocco, is far more substantial.
If the visa is approved then it takes about 1-2 weeks for the consulate to issue the visa. Make sure you completed the CGI & Aramex steps, check the CEAC site for status change, track the passport, etc.
Do a Congressional inquiry if you don’t hear anything within in 3 months. Spousal petitions don’t expire like K1. Don’t bother calling or sending emails to the Consulate. They won’t answer or they’ll send an automated message. USCIS and NVC can not help at this point either.
