  1. It just blows my mind how things have changed (have slowed down to be exact) in the past couple years. When I did my AOS back in 2013, it took only 3 months to get my GC. Now we're looking at 1 year. It's just unbelievable. Hang in there and best of luck.
  2. As others have said, she is adjusting status and no longer an F1. I doubt that CBP would even let her in under F1 status She can always find a part-time job to help out financially while going to school. In the worst case scenario, if she decides to quit, I don't think it'll affect her AOS. I can't say anything about using AP to enter the US since I've never done it. Probably others with more experience will chime in. However personally, I wouldn't leave the country unless it's a necessity. Where is she now with her application?
  3. You're welcome. Glad I could help.
  4. I went to a local Passport Acceptance Facility (USPS Post Office). Below is a link that you can use to search for the one that is most convenient for you. https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/ Just put in your zip code and it'll give you a list of close by facilities.
  5. They sent it via email. It would have been more understandable if they had sent it regular mail.
  6. Everything is going at a much slower rate than usual. I just did my N400 and it took approx 8 months from start to finish whereas people who had filed before this crazy time were able to complete their processes within 3-4 months. However if you do believe that people who filed after you already had their interviews and they are from the same FO as yours then I definitely suggest to contact your Congressman. The same thing happened to me when people got their Oaths before me despite the fact that they filed after. I had contacted our State Senator and shortly after I received my Oath. SR doesn't work. I also submitted a SR regarding my oath letter. The online status said they completed working on my request and sent the response to me on April 21 but I just received it 1 week ago. And in the response, they were telling me that my case was pending for oath scheduling yet I already became a USC on May 9. So yeah, definitely call your Congressman and ask for help. Good luck.
  7. I chose standard processing time and it took 6 business days to receive my passport. I sent my application on May 19 in the afternoon, didn't pay any extra fee, just $110 for the passport book and $25 for the execution fee, $135 in total. They finished processing and sent back the passport on May 26 and I just received it today May 30.

  9. You're the only one that will be interviewed. Your husband will wait outside in the waiting room if he comes. Many people suggested that for people applying under 3 year rule, it is recommended to have the spouses with them even though spouses are not permitted in the interviewing room. Also many people were fine with going there alone. So I guess if your husband cannot come, there is nothing you can do. Don't stress about it too much. And good luck.
  10. Added EMBELL_17 and Hawskquill. Hi EMBELL_17 and Hawksquill, I took the liberty to add you to the table. 12. I've just finished my Immigration journey and now it's time to petition for my mother. I filed I-130 and I-485 for her concurrently. I've been following the ROC and the N-400 threads. They have created Timeline table to efficiently track each other's case. So I created this table to make it easier for us to follow. I tried to remember as many events that had happened during my AOS process as possible. But of course things change so feel free to update. I find it's best to update the table using Internet Explorer. All you do is just copy the table with the legend and paste it into the response box. And if you can't do it, just leave your information here and tag my username along, I'll update at my earliest convenience. Note: This table is only applicable to those who are applying for a Green Card either solely file for I-485 or concurrently file for I-130 and I-485. ===================== AOS: May 2017 Applicants =====================UserName............|Sent....|Cashd|NOA..|Fprints.|Early WI|RFE.....|RFE Resp|Int Ltr.|Intview.|Result..|Beneficiary.|Field Office.....|Kim&Jos.............|05/23/17|--/--|--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--| |Parent......|Boston, MA.......|....................|--/--/--|--/--|--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--| |............|.................|....................|--/--/--|--/--|--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--| |............|.................| Instructions for adding/updating yourself (or assisting others) to this list:1. 13. I'm taking back the part that "you're in for a 8-9 month wait"... If you take a look at November and December threads, you'll see that Chicago applicants are moving along rather quick. Especially the one from December thread, who filed on 12/05/16, interviewed on 4/13/17 and just sworn in on 05/09/17. It looks like a 5 month wait from the date that they applied.
  14. My best suggestion is to browse around the monthly threads and pay close attention to those who are from the same FO as yours (Chicago, IL). I just took a quick glimpse and looks like we have 1 October filer from Chicago. He/she filed on 09/30/16, got in line on 11/10/16 and nothing has changed ever since. There could be a case that he/she hasn't been updating his/her timeline but I doubt that. Because we also have 1 August filer, filed on 08/01/16 and just got his/her Interview on 04/25/17. It appears to me that you're in for a 8-9 month wait from the date that you applied. That's of course the information I got from our monthly threads. Keep in mind that there are more Chicago applicants out there and everybody's case is different.
  15. Have you considered about moving back home? Can you transfer? If not, how far are you from finishing your program? What was your initial plan? Going back home or staying there in Dallas? I don't want to take anyone's side but you have to think about her too not just your ambition. You're saying she is completely ignoring your "educational future and career prospects". What about you completely ignoring her thoughts and feeling? Moving is a big change, especially moving from where you were born and raised. My husband got a job out of state and I had to give up my job in Boston to be with him. Things didn't work out and we ended up going back home in 3 months. I was miserable during those 3 months. Not knowing a single soul, all I did was hanging around, applying for jobs, taking walk, cooking and waiting for him to come home every night. Of course I wasn't born in Boston yet moving to a different place still had that much effect on me, considering your spouse being relocated from a place she has called home her whole life. What I'm saying is if you truly love her, you do anything to be with her and make things work.
