  1. Hi Folks, I am about to step in tax filing season for the year 2022, but I am not sure which status i have to be. I sponsored a green card to my parent, who came to on Late July. Due to the senior age, she did not work entire year and relied on my income. According to IRS portal, dependent should live with you more than 6 months to file as a head of household. Turbo tax software asked basic questions such as who and how many months lived with you till December 31 and it seems I am qualified for a head of household, but I want to confirm with those who faced the situation like mine. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi folks, I sponsored my mom's green card and she is expected to be coming in July. I live in California and medical insurance is a must for all residents. I was checking basic plans for her (she is 62) and prices start from $700 per month, which definitely i won't be able to afford and most likely I want to lean towards medicaid. Also, i checked public charge guideline for sponsors and it looks like non-cash federal assistance is not longer part of the public charge. Can you guys confirm it if anyone encountered with this matter?
  3. Ughh, I am not too sure... All the dates showed are the original time i uploaded. See attached snaps, excluding optional docs. What is your original date you submitted documents? Another time I'd recommend to call NVC, but they are useless - they'll be repeating the same info that you see on our account.
  4. Yeah, thank you! It's been a long journey and worth of waiting. It was around January 15, right on weekend. It's funny, that I uploaded them so much earlier but never hit the button "submit". So guys, be mindful about these tricks, each time when you upload anything, click submit.
  5. I submitted all the required docs on late september-early October, then i added optional ones on January. I thought it would take till April since around February, they were reviewing docs submitted on October. I assume, they did not touch my case until now, so i wasted time on stressing over that.
  6. Finally. Unexpectedly received DQ after a long wait. I was about to lose a hope since most folks received feedback during February!!
  7. I found this info online, hopefully this would apply to my case
  8. Sorry, that's the snap on the main page
  9. I will try to call through today. Yes, all documents and forms have status "submitted"
  10. Hello Guys, I am still waiting to get reviewed my documents submitted on early October. I just went across DS-260 form and found I did not select yes/no in Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years. Did anyone encounter this minor issue? Could this be a reason my documents delayed?
  11. Hello everyone. I finally called through NVC yesterday, had to stay in a line for 2+ hours. When I finally connected an agent, i asked clarification on why my submitted documents on October 4th are still under review. They told me that I submitted optional documents on January 15th and since they are reviewing docs for October I'll have to wait another three months. I asked them why my case was still being reviewed with initial submission date, but they did not hear me and kept telling me that submission date was January 15th. I have no clue what is going on.
  12. Did you guys send application for CR1? Mine is IR5, petition for parent and haven't heard anything yet (initial doc submission Oct,4). I attempted to call them yesterday but they don't connect to a live person; sent inquiry instead. Not too sure how soon I'll get a response from them, they are quiet slow at responding.
  13. Hey. We are on the same boat. I started panicking yesterday and posted screenshots of the original docs submitted. I checked my account and I uploaded/submitted docs on October 4th and have no updates so far. Also, I did not submitted the optional documents and based on what other people say, i should have hit "submit" button every time when new doc uploaded. I do not really want to hit now, just because I fear that case will be delayed from the date I submitted again. I am going to wait up till next week and reach out to NVC. Situation is Kazakhstan is very destabilized and this gives a double stress.
  14. I submitted documents on October 4th. Should I wait a couple of days and reach out to NVC? I am confused and worried
