Financial support affidavit

Hello! I just got my petition approved and an email sent to me saying they were sending my petition off to my fianc s country, Peru. I m uncertain if that email means my fianc e should start getting his docs together or if I have to wait for a physical letter in the mail telling me that Peru received my petition? Fianc is anxious as he isn t sure when he should start scheduling medical exams, etc.

Also, for financial support affidavit - can that come from either me or him? It says he has to provide it but I thought I read he could use my paperwork showing I can support him during his stay?

Thank you!

DCF ADVICE REQUIRED PLEASE! :)

Hi! Couples that have filled Direct Consular Filling, we need some advice. We requested if we could submit our case though DCF (in Peru), originally our embassy had told us that the our request had been accepted. They gave us a list of documents to collect and explained the process and asked us to let them know when we had our documents ready. After we confirmed this they gave us an appointment date. The problem starts when we the appointment date conflicted with an scheduled trip to reunite(visit) my family after a couple of years, also this trip was non refundable. We explained the situation and apologize for requesting a new appointment date (only a few days in the future), they answered by just asking for my phone number. A few days later the Immigration Visa Chief Officer called to clarify details of our case and situation. After some questions about our case and situation, he ended up saying that apparently we weren t urgently in need to do a DCF, and that maybe there was a mistake on the approval of our case. His conclusion was mainly because, my spouse and I, were both working at the time in my spouse home country. Plus I was doing online collage. This happened almost half a year ago, and now our employment situation has changed, and my school situation as well as I m soon to finish it and will need an internship in my studied field. We were told one of the reasons they could allow us to file direct counselor filing would be if I had a job offer that required me to be in the United States and without another form of income however USCIS will still need to approve our case based on urgency. This is currently our situation. We need some legal advice on how to proceed with our current situation and the past inconvenience that we just explained. Has someone experienced something similar? We would like to get some advice on the topic to consider the option of reapplying for a DCF. Any advice would be highly appreciated or if someone could recommend us a lawyer we could speak with that has experience in these type of case. Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone. I need some help. Yesterday my wife had her interview for the cr1 visa in Peru . During the interview the officer noticed that her police records for Brazil were missing. My wife lived in Brazil for a year over a decade ago and we missed the fact that she needed police records from Brazil. The agent gave her a 221g form that instructed us to mail in the Brazilian police records. We wasted no time and did that right away. The have been mailed to the embassy and will be in the consulor section in the morning. Does ANYONE know how long this process will take? Hopefully it s quick since it s from something that happened 10 years ago and there are zero criminal charges against her at all, in fact she was a missionary in Brazil. They don t specify a timeline but if anyone knows anything, please help us

How to talk to a real USCIS agent?

Hello! I'm sure I've seen this asked on here somewhere before, but it's been almost a year since I last logged in and can't find it. I'm finally within my NOA2 delivery window, and I just had to move and I did update my address with USCIS. However, I keep getting notices saying that my approval date is past due and I should call them. Every time I try to call them, I get the annoying robot that won't get me anywhere. I wanted to call them and triple confirm my address was changed and make sure I didn't miss any mail because I've been having issues receiving mail in general (it isn't getting delivered). Any tips on how to contact a real agent?

Thank you!

My sister is entering her COS request from Tourist visa to Student and her I-94 will expire Oct 14th 2023, I know it won't take 2 months for it to be approved. Will she be deported or does she have legality until the COS is approved or denied? Thanks
