Hello Members,

My fiancee has online business in her home country.

We understand that once her K1 visa is approved, she is not allowed to work while in the US until she receives her green card or some sort of work permit.

My question is, while waiting for her green card or work permit, is she allowed to remotely working on her online business from her home country?

Thanks.

K1 to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands

Nothing online I found was clear, but we decided to honeymoon in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands in November 2019. Let's clear this up.

I am a birthright US citizen from Arizona. My wife is K1. We went to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico for a five-week honeymoon in 2019, before she received AP, or Employment Authorization, or anything else. This was about 100 days after her entry to the US on K1.

There were no checks on the flight from Dallas to San Juan. There were no checks in San Juan.

We flew from San Juan to Charlotte Amalie. There were no checks.

Do not go to the British Virgin Islands, even for the day. This is considered leaving the US, and you will not be permitted to re-enter on a K1.

We flew from Charlotte Amalie back to San Juan. There is a formal immigration point in the Charlotte Amalie departure section. They checked her K1, we said we are married and waiting on a green card. They wished us a safe flight with no problems. We flew to San Juan. Arriving in San Juan, immigration agents again checked everyone's passport, including my wife's. They saw the K1, we said she is a green card applicant, they waived us through.

We flew from San Juan back to Houston. There were no checks.

Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are incredible honeymoon locations, and it is not worth staying at home after marriage because you read online that your flight could get diverted. The chance of this is miniscule.

If you are K1, make sure you started your 485 and received the Receival Notice, and head to PR and the USVI. It is perfectly legal and allowed.

Have Fun!

Question about I-130 Approved Stamped Passport

I'm getting a little ahead of myself but I wanted to just have an idea how things will turn out when the time comes...

Say my wife's I-130 petition gets approved without a hitch, we smoothly sail through the NVC process, and completely ace the interview and medical exam --- once all that's done, from what I know and have read and watched online, she will get an approval notice given to her after the interview by the officer and then be mailed out her documents, passport, and a sealed folder to give to CBP at the border when she goes to cross into the US for the first time. After she is approved we also can pay for her immigrant fee online and order her green card (apparently taking up to 6 months for it to arrive), but in the mean time once she receives her passport back in the mail she will have a stamp in it that gives her the clearance to cross into the US as a permanent resident.

My question then is, if she and I were to cross to the US (we live in Ciudad Juarez) the second she gets her stamped passport as a day trip to research apartments and take her out the eat would she be able to go back to Mexico at the end of the day and then cross back into US again the next? I guess what I'm saying is, does that stamped passport allow her to be seen as a permanent resident to cross lawfully a number of times until she gets her official green card in the mail?

Hello,

I don t know if I am going to get answers here but couldn t find anything on google and to email dhs support takes weeks to get an answer.

My wife is applying for a sentri pass because we live close to the border and we cross often to our vacation home in Baja.

On the application its asking for proof of US citizenship. She has a certificate of birth abroad ( she was born in a Military base in Germany) and a passport card (not a book)

when shes trying to enter the info, her passport card number is not working.

and when she selects birth certificate, there is no bc number!!!

does anybody in here has any knowledge of this or where can we get help?

Thank you in advance.
